Social media right now is blowing up with posts about the election. The news is a constant stream of updates and new predictions about this state or that state. And I know it’s only going to get more intense as the polls close and votes are counted.
I don’t want to add to the noise so today’s post is short. I hope, though, that it encourages you today if you’re feeling overwhelmed or anxious or stressed.
The past few weeks God has continually reminded me that no matter what happens with today’s election (presidential, of course, but also local and state elections as well) he is still God.
He is still sovereign.
He is not surprised by the results.
He is still on his throne.
These beautiful truths about God have filled me with so much peace when I can feel the anxiety start to rise within me. I pray that they fill you with his perfect peace right now, too. I’m praying that each of us, no matter the outcome of this election, remember how near our God is to us.
