About Jennifer

Hi!  My name is Jennifer.  Welcome to my blog!  I’m glad you’re here! I’m a Christ-follower who loves the Lord, my family, my friends, and all those the Lord brings into my life.  I have been married to my wonderful husband Mace since June 2010.  He is my biggest supporter, encourager, and partner in this crazy adventure called life.  He truly is my best friend and a gift from the Lord.

We have three children, a son and two daughters.  We adopted our son from foster care in February 2017 when he was three years old.  We can’t imagine our lives without our sweet B. He loves to make us laugh and has the best dance moves around!

Two months after adopting B, I gave birth to our first biological daughter. Our sweet baby girl Hannah had been diagnosed in utero with a fatal condition called anencephaly and passed away at one day old. We cherished the time we had with our daughter, both in the womb and out.

Our second biological daughter, Haven, was born in September 2018. At ten days old she began the fight of her life as she fought Group B Strep Bacterial Meningitis. After 18 days in the hospital filled with IV antibiotics, 6 days of intubation, going septic, a blood transfusion, seizures, and more ups and downs than a roller coaster, God spared our sweet girl’s life, and we give all glory to Him.

In addition to our fun-loving son and beautiful daughters, as foster parents, we have had the joy of caring for several children in our home. He has given us an amazing support system of family and friends and friends of friends who have walked and prayed alongside us through all of the joyful ups and the heartbreaking downs.

I write this blog as a way to share what God is showing me and revealing to me.  It’s been incredible to watch the ashes of my life turn into something beautiful in the hands of my loving God.  When we trust Him and seek Him, we get front-row seats to the masterpiece He is creating. I hope that our story and what God is teaching me through our experiences will help encourage you and point you to the Lord.

Pressing on in faith, Jennifer

Awesome Jennifer! What a great article! I am one of those who do not say much because I don’t know what to say. There was much freedom in that blog. Thank you! I’ve never lost a child and don’t want to even imagine it. The supernatural courage and strength you had to have finds me speechless. So glad you found an avenue to write and share your story, your life, your faith, your struggles and your joys so that other moms can find a place of solace. Great job! Looking forward to the next one!

Hey, Linda! Thank you so much for reading and for that very sweet encouragement! I know that it’s not easy to know what to do or say to someone who has experienced a tragic loss, but I’m so glad that you are taking my post to heart-you are such a caring friend!!

Let me know what you think!
